They ran and won

The winner is one who has a clearly defined goal and an overwhelming desire to achieve it. This was the motto of the relay race and pilgrimage from Kietrz to Rome that ended several days ago, in which runners from the Głubczyce District participated. ASA was pleased to be a partner and sponsor of this event.

From 3 to 11 July the runners covered a 1500 km route leading through the Czech Republic, Austria and Italy.  More than 30 persons participated in the race, mainly runners from the Gryf Association in Kietrz headed by its Chairperson Andrzej Wójtowicz, who gave accounts of their experiences and events occurring during the race and during their stay in particular countries. And there were so many impressions...

Several days of running. The weather conditions and the land configuration made the race quite a challenge.  Day by day, the challenges increased... The heat, heavy traffic making it difficult to move around, and the number of kilometres already covered made themselves felt. Nobody complained or thought of giving up, however, as the views were beautiful and Rome was closer every day. And if Rome, then also the Vatican, and St.  John Paul II’s grave, and Pope Francis.

What was happening then? How was it? Andrzej Wójtowicz describes everything in just a few words: “It was FANTASTIC! The atmosphere is created by people, the surroundings and positive energy. We had enough of that. I would like to thank the participants of the race, our colleagues, friends, incidentally encountered people, and all people of good will for their energy, smile and professionalism.

The organization of the Kietrz - Rome relay race was a huge organizational and financial challenge. I would like to thank all Patrons, Sponsors and Partners of the race and all people of good will who supported us financially and materially. To all people: THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for every sign of warm-heartedness and support. THANK YOU VERY, VERY MUCH!”

ASA would also like to thank all the participants of the race for their efforts undertaken in order to reach the goal, and we wish everyone, including those who supported the enterprise, that all their requests and prayers would come true.
