Artresan Active and ASA Team Running for Health at the Midsummer Night Race in Gdynia

The ninth edition of the Midsummer Night Race in Gdynia went down in history. On 21 June 2013 at 23:59 sharp, following a gunshot from the ORP "Błyskawica" [Lightning] destroyer, the running competition began. More than four and a half thousand runners set off on the 10 km route attested by the Polish Athletic Association; they soon filled the streets of Gdynia, and thus proved that everyone, regardless of their gender and age, may participate in such a race, following some preparation.

The event was supported by Artresan Active, which was also present in Gdynia in an earlier race, being a part of the Grand Prix of Gdynia in the Street Racing 2013, that is, the Birthday Race which took place in February 2013.

From the start, Roman Romanenko from Ukraine and Launen Kwalia from Kenya were the leaders in the competition.  Marcin Chabowski, Radosław Kłeczek, John Tanui and Radosław Dudycz were running right after them, shoulder to shoulder. Eventually, after a successful attack, Romanenko won with a time of 29 minutes and 23 seconds, and 2 seconds later, the runner from Kenya reached the finish line.

Radek Kłeczek from ASA Team Running for Health was third, with a time of 29 minutes 36 seconds, thus establishing his personal best at the distance of 10 km. ASA Team Running for Health consisted of 13 runners from three teams: Gdynia, Warsaw and Kraków. We would like to thank them for their participation and promotion of an active and healthy lifestyle among their families and friends. Information concerning the participation of the Team in races and their fitness training can be found at: www.sprawnestawy.eu/biegiem-po-zdrowie-team.

4636 runners completed the 9th Midsummer Night Race, all of whom received a commemorative medal being a part of the collection of medals from all races included in the Grand Prix of Gdynia in the Street Racing 2013, that is, the Birthday Race, the European Race and the Midsummer Night Race.

Runners will have an opportunity to get the final, fourth element on 11 November, during the Independence Race for which they will be able to enroll in early September.
