print"Stara Ochronka" Culture and Arts Voivodeship Centre and the National Senior Citizen Association in Bydgoszcz organised on 27 August 2011 15th National Festival of Senior Citizens Creativity "Babie Lato [Indian Summer] 2011".
"Babie Lato" is a periodical open-air event that takes place every 2 years. It has already become permanently rooted in the cultural landscape of Bydgoszcz and included in the national calendars of cultural events. This is a unique event not only for the Bydgoszcz citizens, but also for numerous tourists, who have a great opportunity to get acquainted with the astonishing artistic craftsmanship.
The presentation of the unique artistic craftsmanship was accompanied by the craftsmanship workshop shows in particular art areas. Thus, the visitors not only had an opportunity to see the masterpieces, but also had an opportunity to watch the artist craftsmen at work and learn such crafts as embroidery, lace-making, painting or sculpturing.
180 folk artists from all over Poland took part in this year's event, presenting such crafts as embroidery, sculpture, painting, decorative arts, flower arranging. On regular basis these senior citizen artists enjoy everyday activities in Senior Citizens Clubs, Art Activity Clubs, Fine Arts Groups, Craftsmen Groups, Social Welfare Facilities and others, developing their skills and abilities.
Senior citizen singing and dancing ensembles also performed during the event.
The choir, singer group, cabaret and theatre performances were also popular with the audience and received big applause. Also folk bands and city backyard bands of Senior Citizens Clubs performed at the event.
ASA company was co-organiser of the festival. It funded the prizes and provided all the visitors with healthcare guidebooks.
What is a proper diet for persons with high blood pressure? How to eliminate lipid disorders and fight against higher cholesterol and prevent heart troubles? These were most frequently asked questions to our representatives. The festival visitors got an opportunity to see the whole offer of our pro-health products and receive samples of our preparations.
Also the persons who showed up at the blood pressure measurement desk received professional "Novocardia heart care blood pressure notebooks - How to care for the heart to the rhythm of cha-cha with Novocardia."
We are pleased with the fact that we may support such cultural and educational events.
We are also proud of our contribution into the activities of the "third-age citizens", members of Senior Citizen Clubs and the disabled people as well as individual artists, building in this way an intergenerational bridge.
