On 26 September 2011 in Kiernozia near Łowicz, a disease prevention campaign was held; it comprised, for instance, free mammography and densitometric examinations for the local population.
All day long, in the pharmacy at Łowicka Street the local inhabitants could get blood tests, blood pressure measurements and weight measurements.
Our company was one of the Sponsors of this campaign.
The beautiful weather contributed to the enormous popularity of the campaign. Several dozens of inhabitants of Kiernozia and the neighbouring villages participated in it.
Women aged 40 plus constituted the largest number of those willing to undergo examinations.
This is the age when a progressing bone mass defect process and disorders in the bone micro-architecture start, which consequently leads to the development of "a silent disease", that is osteoporosis.
That is why regular diagnostics is of special importance, in particular, because in case of osteoporosis it is painless and fast; it is a densitometric examination consisting in the measurement of bone density in the forearm bone. The bone scanning is carried out by means of a specialist device, a densitometer. The examination lasts from 3 to 5 minutes and is painless.
Prevention plays a vital role in the fight against the "silent bone thief". This involves a properly composed diet based on products rich in calcium and vitamin D.
One can supply the appropriate amount of calcium in a diet reaching for tested dietary supplements available in pharmacies. The preparation Osteovit 1000 is recommended for everyone who wants to take active care of their bones.
All of the examinations were carried out quickly and efficiently. Blood test results could be read just after a few seconds.
More than 60% of the examined persons had problems with an increased level of cholesterol (>190mg/dl). The inhabitants of Kiernozia are no exception in the population of Poland.
As many as 70% of grown up Poles have lipid disorders characterised by a high total cholesterol level, which may result in serious cardiological problems. After hypertension, lipid disorders are the second risk factor of cardiac infarction or cerebral stroke, that is cardiological diseases which are the causes of a significant number of deaths in Poland - cardiological diseases are responsible for almost 50% of deaths in Poland.
The key to a healthy heart is the elimination of as many as possible risk factors, the introduction of a healthy diet, regular physical exercises, systematic medical examinations depending on one's health condition, as well as the use of preparations providing ingredients required by the organism (Novocardia, Sterolea).
Ladies and gentlemen, the sooner you start taking good care of your health, the longer you will be enjoying a beautiful life.
