The menopause with no secrets

Let us rejoice, let us not waste time for sadness and bitterness, life is beautiful!
This is the attitude of the students of the University of the Third Age in Siedlce.
Established in 2004, the University allows them to live a joyful life, fills their time with valuable and meaningful activities, fulfils their cultural and social needs and determines new roles in life as well as helps to make their concealed dreams come true.
There are more than 500 participants who have the status of students, i.e. people ready to gain knowledge, interested in many things, oriented at some broader issues than just everyday life.
One of the main subjects taught during lectures at the University is pro-health education.
On 16 March 2011 ASA organized a lecture for this thriving community in Siedlce on high blood pressure during the menopause.
Ms Magdalena Mokrogulska, MSc - a dietician and nutrition specialist - discussed all of the nutrition factors which effectively reduce blood pressure. Additionally, in her guidelines she also stressed the importance of the appropriate daily intake of dietary fibre, calcium, magnesium and the appropriate amount of composite carbohydrates, animal and vegetable protein andthe omega-3 acids.
The lectures entitled "Hypertension during the Menopause - the Invaluable Role of a Diet" aim at making the audience aware of the fact that the menopause is a time of changes which carries numerous health risks, such as an increased risk of the cardiac-vascular system diseases, as well as overweight and obesity which may have unfavourable effects on the woman's organism.
One of the most dangerous problems for women in the menopause is high blood pressure.  And since high blood pressure is usually neglected both by physicians and the women themselves, the problem grows as time goes by.
In order to reduce or entirely eliminate health risks during the menopause it is enough to have a closer look at one's health, take care of one's bodily and spiritual needs and define new pro-health objectives for the subsequent decades of life.
A proper diet proposed and discussed in details by Ms Mokrogulska, as well as pro-health preparations offered by ASA will help us to achieve this goal.
Novocardia has a favourable effect on the cholesterol and triglyceride level in blood and improves the blood flow in blood vessels, while Menoplant Soy-a 40+ is a natural preparation supplementing the daily diet with soy isoflavones – phytoestrogens which alleviate the ailments connected with the menopause. Besides, phytoestrogens favourably affect the cholesterol level and the cardiac-vascular system, which makes them valuable pro-health components of a daily diet.
All of the participants of the meeting were given little souvenirs in the form of pro-health preparations manufactured by ASA and Ms Mokrogulska's book entitled "Hypertension during the Menopause - the Invaluable Role of a Diet".
