Although the locomotive system is an almost perfect "mechanism", it is also subject to all the laws of mechanics, physics and biology. Consequently, with the passing of time, it is subject to typical physiological wear and you have no influence on the course of these changes. You do, however, have influence on the speed of these changes and it depends on you, to a large extent, whether the process will be accelerated or slowed down.
