The World Health Organization (WHO) warns against an obesity epidemic and states that 2.6 million people die every year on account of being overweight or obese. Obesity poses one of the main risks for global deaths nowadays. It is no longer an aesthetic problem, but a serious medical concern. In Poland, as many as 46% of the population have problems with maintaining proper body mass. Can overweight and obesity be ignored then? It can, but is it worth it?

ASA and ASA Team Running for Health at the 35th Warsaw Marathon

On 29 September 2013 the 35th PZU Warsaw Marathon was held. 8506 runners completed the main race and therefore another attendance record was broken by the Polish marathon.

Novocardia and Sterolea are partners of the World Heart Day in Kraków

The 14th World Heart Day was celebrated in Poland on 29 September.
The idea of popularizing basic knowledge of heart diseases, their treatment and prevention methods has already been accepted by more than 120 countries. Just like last year, ASA and its preparations, Novocardia and Sterolea, was the sponsor of the World Heart Day in Kraków organized by the branch of the Polish Cardiac Society in Kraków.

ASA is a partner of the 23rd PHILIPS International Half-Marathon Piła

On 8 September the town of Piła was the runner's capital of Poland. Nearly 2.500 runners participated in the 23rd PHILIPS International Half-Marathon Piła. This race is classified as a part of the Men's Championship of Poland, the Team Championships of Uniformed Services of Poland and the Academic Cup of Poland in Half-Marathon. This year 2431 runners completed the PHILIPS Half-Marathon Piła, which is a record and which proves that the Piła half-marathon enjoys ever growing popularity and develops dynamically.

Prevention does not bite - prevention helps to save life

For many years, the World Heart Day has been celebrated in September. For many of us it has been a great opportunity to think about our hearts and check whether they are not at risk. Free of charge prophylactic examinations available during various events organized on the occasion of the World Heart Day can also be useful here.

Run for Health ASA Team at Karkonosze Mountain Marathon

On 3 August 2013 nearly 700 runners arrived to Szklarska Poręba, Poland to take part in the 5th Karkonosze Mountain Marathon. Colourfull T-shirts could be seen all over the place. Some runners wore the T-shirts of the 5th Karkonosze Mountain Marathon. They were quite visible - white with some red elements. They had also the logo of Artresan Active – the official sponsor of the Run for Health ASA Team.
