On 21 April the summer season of the Merida Mazovia MTB Marathon started. The weather was changeable and unpredictable. Sometimes it was good, and the conditions for a cycling competition were ideal, and then again - in the next stage (another town) the participants had to face more difficult weather conditions.
Nevertheless, Artresan Active as a sponsor of the Merida Mazovia MTB Marathon and a true supporter of all active Poles gladly participated in the events and will participate in all remaining races in the cycle.
Let us inform all those who still do not know what the Merida Mazovia MTB Marathon is. Mazovia MTB Marathon is the largest amateur cycling event in Poland. Its characteristic feature is an exciting cycling competition, as well as a professionally prepared route combined with a sports facilities centre in the background offering entertainment for the entire family.
The Merida Mazovia MTB Marathons are organized by an outstanding Polish cyclist and a true cycling enthusiast – Cezary Zamana. Cezary Zamana was the representative of Poland in the World Championships, the Champion of Poland in 1999 and the winner of Tour de Pologne in 2003; he has been actively involved in various activities promoting cycling and a healthy lifestyle, and he supports local cyclists' clubs.
The Merida Mazovia Marathons organized by me aim at fostering professional conditions for cycling amateurs as well as promoting active recreation forms for the entire family. Participants may choose from among three distances of various levels of difficulty. Moreover, we always take care of all people, in particular the children, and offer them an interesting way of spending their free time. Maybe thanks to that in a few years they will "become infected" with cycling which has a great influence on our condition and health – persuades Cezary Zamana.
The first event in the summer cycle of Merida Mazovia MTB was held on 21 April in Legionowo, where numerous cycling enthusiasts appeared. As many as 1223 participants took part in it and as many as 100 participants in the Hobby distance (a record result), which was quite a surprise. There were also many supporters attracted by the atmosphere of true sport competition. And the weather was sunny too. The events in ToruĊ (3 May) and Bydgoszcz (4 May) also enjoyed great popularity.
We and the organizers of the events are invariably satisfied with the fact that these events attract more and more children and adolescents.
Adolescents participate in the Hobby distance, while younger children try their hand at a mini-race and beginners can improve their skills in riding runner bicycles in the Puky Race.
The next Merida Mazovia MTB Marathon will be held on 19 May in Piaseczno. If you like spending your time in an active manner and love cycling, you should try your hand at this discipline. We invite you to join us. You simply have to be there during the May event abounding in attractions for the entire family!
