On 27 October 2011 a press meeting entitled "I feel healthy but I want to be sure - I have regular medical examinations" was held. During a lively discussion, the invited experts familiarised the journalists present at the meeting with the issues concerning female cancer and the significance of prophylaxis. Halina Mlynkova, an artist who actively supports many social campaigns for women's health, was a special guest.
As it was underlined by the participants of the meeting, for many women cancer is a word which sticks in their throats and they just prefer to stay away from anything that is related to it. Many women, in particular from villages and little towns, are not aware of the gravity of cervical cancer and breast cancer.
Periodical and systematic diagnostic examinations allowing the detection of most diseases in a very early stage are extremely significant for the early detection of female cancer cases. What is most important, treatment is more effective and cheaper then. Every woman should have an ultrasonographic breast examination every six months. It is important to have a basic gynaecological examination and cytology at least once a year.
The following persons participated in the discussion panel: Joanna Regucka from ASA, a company taking care of women's intimate health, Dr Jacek Tomaszewski - a second degree specialist in gynaecology and obstetrics, an assistant in the Second Faculty and Gynaecological Clinic at the Medical University in Lublin, Dr Monika Łukasiewicz – a sexologist, Professor Lew Starowicz's assistant, a gynaecologist - obstetrician working at the Warsaw Bielany Hospital and the Institute of Medical Sexology and Psychotherapy at CMKP (the Medical Centre of Postgraduate Education), Jolanta Zwolińska, an activist for the Foundation supporting the recovery of children fighting with cancer and the owner of YONELLE Zwolińska Beauty Institute, and Agnieszka Rudzińska - the CMP Medical Centre representative.
The participants paid special attention to efficient educational programmes. They stressed the fact that such activities in connection with proper prophylaxis are the key to success. Access to free examinations is particularly important in the combat against female cancer. That is why "A week with LaciBios femina in CMP" becomes a part of the idea which allows the early detection of most diseases.
It should be remembered that in each case it is prophylaxis that can protect us from an uncontrollable development of a disease.
Do not take chances. Remember about prophylaxis. It can save your life.
