Activeness, entrepreneurship, independence. This was the motto of the Fourth Congress of Women held on 14 and 15 September 2012 in Warsaw.
The Congress of Women is a social movement gathering socially and politically active women in Poland. It was established in June 2009, on the 20th anniversary of the Polish political and economic transformation.
This year, the Congress dedicated to broadly understood entrepreneurship brought together about 9.5 thousand participants in the Palace of Culture and Science.
The hosts were Kinga Rusin, Agata Młynarska and Olga Kozierowska. The event was also attended by journalists, actresses and writers, as well as public figures, such as the first lady, Anna Komorowska, Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz, Wanda Nowicka, Beata Tadla, Hanna Bakuła, Krystyna Kofta and Maria Czubaszek.
6 plenary sessions dedicated to women's economic independence, 21 parallel panel sessions and 3 roundtable sessions were held during the Congress. Behind the scenes, like every year, the Women's Park was present - that is, numerous arranged exhibitions of non-governmental institutions, foundations, publishing houses and pharmaceutical companies. Our Company was also present there, as for many years all issues related to women's health have been particularly important to us.
At our stand, women had a chance to get to know LaciBios femina – an oral gynaecological probiotic which takes care of women's health.
They could also fill in a questionnaire concerning prophylactic examinations which women should undergo regularly. There were competitions with attractive prizes.
At the Women's Park stage interviews were held with various interesting guests.
In one of the panels, Dr Monika Łukasiewicz, invited by our Company, in an interview with Mariola Bojarska – Ferenc, the host of the meeting, talked about women's intimate health. Dr Łukasiewicz deals with women's medical problems on a daily basis, and since she is a specialist in gynaecology, obstetrics and sexology, she has a holistic approach to women's health.
In her lecture entitled: "Women's health - the art of prevention", Dr Łukasiewicz pointed out the influence on women's health of
Dr Łukasiewicz encouraged women to use gynaecological probiotics which hinder the growth of C. albicans and lower the vagina's PH to the level characteristic of a healthy woman's vagina.
She also talked about physical exercises. It is due to physical exercises that the risk of the cardiovascular system diseases decreases: the level of the HDL cholesterol ("good cholesterol") increases, while the level of the LDL cholesterol and triglycerides decreases. Physical exercises also help prevent depression, diabetes, certain types of cancer and arthritis. They improve our wellbeing and self-confidence.
As Dr Łukasiewicz said, Physical exercises give you an injection of energy to deal with difficult situations in life.
We would like to thank all people who visited our stand and listened to Dr Monika Łukasiewicz's lecture.
