As part of the Polish national series of meetings dedicated to pregnant women's health entitled "A healthy baby in a healthy body", on 15 December 2011 we held a meeting with mothers and mothers-to-be in Poznań.
Our special guest and also the host of the meeting was a very energetic mother, as well as a well known and popular actress – Katarzyna Bujakiewicz.
Ms Katarzyna Bujakiewicz, the Ambassador of the Poznań campaign A Conscious Mother, together with the experts invited to the meeting told the participants how to be a healthy, beautiful and active mother.
The meeting in Poznań was organized for mothers-to-be who want to remain attractive after their child is born, as well as to regain their former shape, and above all, still enjoy excellent health. All mothers and mothers-to-be who participated in the meeting, in a nice pre-Christmas atmosphere, had a perfect opportunity to listen to verified expert advice, as well as to dissipate their doubts concerning their health, childbirth and child care.
Agnieszka Łyko – a dietician and nutrition specialist - tried to convince mothers-to-be how important a well-balanced and appropriately selected diet was during the entire period of pregnancy. She also discussed the proper diet for a breastfeeding mother which can help her to regain her former shape.
A paediatrician, Urszula Lulewicz-Sobczak, told mothers how to take proper care of the child and how to feed the child in order to support their immunity, alleviate the colic symptoms and deal with the more and more common problem of allergy.
Advice given by an experienced midwife – Renata Grzybowska, was priceless; she explained what active childbirth was, why it was worth exercising during pregnancy, how to get ready for childbirth and how to alleviate the pain during childbirth.
During the meeting, all mothers participated in a quiz "Conscious motherhood - a recipe for a healthy child" organized by our company. We reminded women that every woman who wants to give birth to a healthy child should start taking care of herself even before the child's conception, and throughout the entire period of pregnancy regularly visit her gynaecologist. The participants of the quiz could win books dedicated to women's health and funded by ASA.
